Actually, I don't believe it was an appeal


If you go to Watch ESPN and find the play (4th inning), it looks like he makes the call on his own.

I believe there is a rule in college softball that other players can't touch a player until she scores or she is out and, of course, the Georgia players were celebrating and hugged her, which I guess makes her out.

In the replay, he is obviously watching the play, so he got it right, but it looks like he then went to the Georgia dugout and delivered the bad news. He then went to the Oklahoma dugout, which makes me think they were surprised as well. The announcing crew never noticed until the next inning.

I should have captured the entire sequence instead of just the highlights. I was trying to keep it brief.
